Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is under half an hour from Lanzarote Airport, and makes a good base from which to see the whole island, along with the attractive fishing villages located in the north.

The island's former capital of Teguise is a Short drive away and gives a change of pace from the busy town of Costa Teguise, however Sunday is market day in the town and means it is a lot more lively.

Costa Teguise was built specifically as a tourist resort and has a man-made beach.
The beaches are more windy than those around the rest of the island, which means it is now a favoured spot for windsurfers.

Costa Teguise is well served for beaches with some fine golden sand in contrast to the darker volcanic ash in other areas of the Island. Much of the holiday accommodation in Costa Teguise is located in easy reach of the beach.

Many of the things to do in the area are centred on the beach, with windsurfing being a particular popular activity, but there is also many other things to do in and around Costa Teguise.

Costa Teguise has a Aquarium, large water park and boasts Lanzarote's first Golf Course

Windsurfing is a popular pursuit in Costa Teguise popular with both tourists and locals. There are plenty of companies dedicated to winsurfing around the beach at Las Cucharas providing lessons, equipment rental/sales. Absolute beginner's right up to more advanced skill levels will find their needs met.

Away from the beach, running and cycling is also on offer for those that want to be active on their holiday, with little danger on the roads and the warm weather this is the perfect area for those that have some excess energy to burn off

As a purpose built resort, there is a wide range of shops catering for tourist market, with something for everyone

There are plenty of small supermarkets in the area where you can stock up for those staying at a self-catering property

Like elsewhere in Lanzarote, the nightlife in Costa Teguise  would be described as lively but not over exuberant. There is a good choice of Bars and Restaurants which are open until late in the evening

A wide range of restaurants are available from the traditional Tapas Bar and Seafood restaurants with Casa Luis, Isla Bonita and El Pescador top of the list, to a more International flavour with a bit of American style at Oscars, to an old eating experienced at the Meson La Jordana. Indian and Chinese eateries are also available. All of these restaurants are complemented with fast-food restaurants.

The area is a well served area by public transport both within and out of town. For more information about the Bus Timetable please click on the link.

If you want to make the most from your holiday and want to explore the entire islands, we recommend you to hire a car.
