Personal Safety:
Crime is relatively low in Lanzarote, even in Arrecife.

Business Hours:
Offices, post offices and the most of shops are open Monday Friday from 9.00-13.00 and 16.00-19.00 (after Siesta), and Saturdays from 9.00-13.00.

Tips (propinas in Spanish): are not mandatory but are always appreciated, but be sure that you have had good service before you tip. Usually it's 5-10% on top of the bill.

Electricity: 220 volts; plugs are 2 rounded pin. UK/USA visitors should bring adapters.

Health:
- There is no malaria or mosquitoes
- No vaccinations are necessary, unless you come from a country with smallpox, typhoid or yellow fever
- Certain medical treatment is allowed
- Just in case, bring your European Health Insurance Card

-  2l of table wine
-  200 cigarettes / 50 cigars
-  60cc of perfume / 250cc of eau de toilette
